Meet Julia!

Julia Damatin is a New York City based actor, CrossFit athlete/coach & owner of Julia Jean Media. She is originally from Boston, MA (& yes… she’s actually from Boston) and received her BFA in Music Theatre from the University at Buffalo (SUNY).

Julia grew up in her mum’s dance studio in South Boston, MA & fell in love with musical theatre! She is passionate about the effects of movement in storytelling & strives to tell movement driven stories. Julia discovered her love for screen acting towards the end of college and currently studies under Christopher Chwee and Dominick LaRuffa Jr. at Act First Studios in NYC.

When Julia was 19 she fell in love with CrossFit and began coaching her senior year. Julia is a CrossFit Level- 1 Trainer at CrossFit Wall Street in NYC’s Financial District. She is passionate about helping athletes move well & finding their purpose in the gym.

In April of 2023, Actors Are Athletes (IG: @actorsareathletes) was born. Julia has a passion for creating & uses her platform to combat the toxic diet & fitness culture within the entertainment industry. She has shared both her story as well as many other performers within the industry (regional, college students, cruise ships, Off-Broadway & more)!

At the beginning of this year Julia launched her media agency, Julia Jean Media. She works with brands and businesses across New York and internationally to develop engaging content, commercials and anything else her clients want. dip their toes into.
